REALise is an integrated campaign, which consists of print work as well as an interactive awareness and fund-raising website that promotes to the target audience, youths and young working adults, through unique storytelling, the organisation Singapore Children's Society.

Besides the website, there were also two public roadshows held and merchandise for this campaign.

This portfolio website was first produced in October 2007 for a school module, and subsequently modified in June 2008 - a short time before internship - to become a real online portfolio which showcases my resume and 3 categories of work, namely: Web & Interactive, Design & Illustrations and Misc (photography, sketches).

The concept is to introduce the idea of insect-eating (entomophagy) in Singapore by proposing a cafe and a full flash tie-in website that provides information and markets it. Bold and unique, it is targeted at the open-minded, daring and adventurous. The themed cafe is located in a popular shopping area and is the first of its kind locally as well as a new hangout for youths to have fun and for experience.

Widget and interface design for the new client, Guerlain, as a part of their 180th anniversary publicity activities. The widget, along with minor changes in the design, was further developed into a working one, available for download from their official Chinese website.

Ichabot's Secret

Postcard designs front + back based on the theme Robots. Featuring the quirky and bizarre - yet intelligent - humanized neighbourhood jester named Ichabot (think Sleepy Hollow and Edward Scissorhands :D)

A short story about two young children from a poor and dysfunctional family, who cannot get the help that they need. With the help from Singapore Children's Society, all hope is not lost.

Originally a sketch done for a Lipton proposal during internship but it wasn't used, so it eventually turned into my personal namecard design.

First attempt at manga-styled fan art. I referenced the figures from a picture of Arashi wearing yukatas (the kimono for summer) taken way back in 2002/3, I think.

This piece is, in a way, a self-portraiture full of nostalgic emotions. I was particularly inspired while listening to a soundtrack while watching my blue curtains fly in the December wind. A tribute to a favourite film,「タイヨウのうた」(Midnight Sun) and its wonderfully bittersweet music.

Assigned by a lecturer to try for the cover of a book of design for the aged that my school was publishing. It had to be pop art style, showing a man that resembles Albert Enstein and a goose that lays golden eggs which represent "ideas".

One of the first assignments in design school; I sure had fun! The objective was to create a character with 3 specific features (everyone picked different attributes) - box, spikes, and it has to be a rabbit. Finally,...

Fig.1 - There is no telling which way is right side up or upside down.
Fig.2 - However friendly a side Wabbitt has, there is always the grouchy face.
Fig.3 - Both its ears, similar to antennaes, are detachable, hence to show its flexibility.

One of the unique features of the Guerlain desktop widget I was assigned to design and animate. Just like a game, it involves interactivity which requires the user to water and sun the orchids through 10 stages. The process of growing the orchids was entirely and manually animated using 2D images (the leaves, petals, stalks etc.).

Schizophrenia: It’s all in his head. What’s in yours?

Edward is a teenager who is suffers from Schizophrenia. The illness has a great impact on him because of his delusions, neglected hygiene and withdrawn personality, he is incapable of forming normal relationships. Paranoid, he hallucinates visually and auditorially, and has an inaccurate perception of reality and the people he interacts with.

The main objectives of this animation is to allow the audience to dive into the world of a Schizo and experience some of the thought processes that go through Edward's head. Ultimately, it puts the audience in the shoes of not only Edward, but some of the people around him, revealing some of the general misconceptions the public has of a Schizo.
